Children and Family Ministry

Faith is learned first at home and lived most fully in the Church. A child's earliest sense of God comes from small and ordinary things: a candle lit together, a prayer said before sleep, the smell of church on a Sunday morning, a grandmother's hand guiding theirs to make the sign of the cross. What begins there grows at the Badarak, in the feasts and fasts, and in the company of the faithful.

Children and Family Ministry (CFM), one of the ministries of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern), supports both. We develop Sunday school curriculum, teacher resources, camps and retreats where young people encounter Christ among friends, and materials parents can use at home without needing to be experts. Our aim is for children to know Christ not as a subject they study but as someone they belong to, and to grow into the worship and tradition of the Armenian Church as their own.

We also aim to encourage parents. You do not need the right words or all the answers. You only need to keep bringing your children to Christ and let the Church walk beside you.
